The main need
Sama blue project is a mixed eco tourism project located in Yaguará Huila. On it first phase is being constructed the restaurant named pato negro. At the side of it we have the Solarium. An outdoor foodie area where the view of Betania dam is the protagonist.

The main request of the client was to keep protected the area of the direct incidence of the sun. When the project was being built the client decide to protect the area against the possible rain. The area coudn´t be cover completly because it obstruct the view in the top area of the first phase.
As the project is located on an islet. There is a high wind current, we decide to use bamboo for the columns. Bamboo in this region is a well know material and easy to use.
Entrance structure - design
With the premise to not cover more than the 60% of the area. We modulate six differents parasols that has only one supporting point. An hexagon was the geometry we choose. That decision is based on the sun path trough the day. This keep the area protected from de sun. Knowing that the use gona be a outdoor for eating, this was crucial.

The most challenging goal was to keep the budget adjust. As it was in the middle of the pandemic, the cost of the material increased. But at the final of the project we did it with only 4.000 Usd
